The $481.6 million Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) supports the Australian Government’s commitment to create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future. Local Governments and not-for-profit organisations located outside of the major capital cities are eligible to apply (term and conditions apply).
The Infrastructure Projects Stream supports projects which involve the construction of new infrastructure, or the upgrade or extension of existing infrastructure that provide economic and social benefits to regional and remote areas. Minimum grant amount of $20,000 and a maximum grant amount of $10 million for projects.
The Community Investments Stream funds community building activities including but not limited to, new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans, and leadership and capability building activities. These projects will deliver economic and social benefits to regional and remote communities. The minimum grant amount is $5,000 and the maximum grant amount is $10 million, however given the nature of eligible projects most grants are expected to be under $100,000. The project must be completed within 12 months of executing the grant agreement with the Commonwealth.
